Your Autumnal Skincare Routine

Nights are drawing in and the weather is turning colder, it's important to remember that any change in the weather calls for some skincare adjustments to be made. From cleansing to exfoliation to nourishment, we’ve compiled a list of our favourite winter essentials and why they’re so special – read on to find your new autumnal skincare routine.
Cleansing
Whilst it’s important to cleanse your skin every day, it’s a fine line between removing the nasties and removing everything (natural oils included!). From cold winds to drying central heating, your skin has enough to compete with this winter so we recommend sticking to gentle, natural cleansing that calms and nourishes.
Our Picks:
Designed to avoid irritation, the Ritual face cleanser incorporates Tamanu oil, Peppermint oil, Willow bark extract and Bentonite clay for gentle, no-nonsense cleansing. An infallible daily essential, it’ll leave you feeling fresh and looking bright!
You may have heard the term ‘Double-Cleansing’ recently, but we promise you- it’s more than a beauty industry fad. Helping to remove the stubborn remnants of oily residue and any unwanted build-up left from your first cleanse, the second cleanse ensures that no pore-clogging impurities are left behind. Your secret weapon for clear skin, the Triumph & Disaster Logic Toner uses Witch Hazel and Alpine Willow Herb to balance, calm and even out skin tone. Plus it’s water-based, so no tight dry skin!
Exfoliate
Did you know, our skin cells dehydrate and die out faster in winter? You may have noticed your face feels tighter, drier or even spot a few patches of flaky skin in the colder months and left to their own devices dead layers of skin will sit on the surface until they either flake or are brushed away. Helping to reveal the fresh layers beneath and remove any build-up, gentle regular exfoliation is a winter essential.
Our Picks:
Once for business, once for pleasure, we suggest using the Rock & Roll Face Scrub twice a week for soft smooth skin. Formulated using Volcanic Ash as a natural exfoliating abrasive the scrub also uses both Green and China clay to help remove impurities and nourish the skin. Bonus, because of these lovely clays, it can even be used as a face mask if you fancy a more indulgent skin treatment.
Nourish
Helping to lock in the skin’s natural moisture as well as smoothing and hydrating, you’ll most likely need to moisturise more frequently in the winter compared to summer months. Whilst which moisturiser you use/ how often you use it will depend on your skin type (each to their own), if you’re not sure where to start, or fancy something new see our winter-winners below.
Our Picks:
Described as having an ‘on and gone’ formula, the Triumph & Disaster Gameface moisturiser is a fantastic choice for daily, lightweight nourishment. Incorporating extracts of Jojoba, Horopito oil, Ponga fern (Cumingii) and Vitamin E, Gameface leaves skin feeling toned, supple and fresh - helping to serve and protect you against the winter elements!
And for your evening routine, we suggest something a little more intensive like the Triumph & Disaster Dark Moon Hydrating Cream and Dichotomy Eye Serum which have been designed to work tirelessly through the night to repair and restore. Best to use the last thing before bed, the Dark Moon Hydrating Cream is rich in rejuvenating Swamp Maple and Kakadu plum, both shown to promote healthy collagen production. Meanwhile, Norwegian kelp and Persian silk help Dichotomy to reduce sagging skin and dark circles caused by dehydration, stress and not enough sleep.
For any particularly dry areas or problem skin, the Organic Repair Serum can be used as and when, with extracts of Argan Oil, Aloe Vera and omega-fatty acids to nourish and regenerate skin. Finally, chapped lips be gone, this winter invest in a nourishing lip balm like Sfaria to repair any damage and protect against bitter winter winds.
